This time around I signed up for the Run Disney Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare Challenge which consists of running a 10K on Saturday and a Half-Marathon on Sunday, for a total of 19.3 Miles and 3 medals at the end of the challenge!

This year the event was held between January 30 - February 02, 2025. The 10K was on Saturday, February 1 and the half marathon on Sunday, February 2.

HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO

I went to the expo on Thursday, January 30, 2025, as I wanted to make sure I got the pins I wanted for this run. I wasn't lucky for the Halloween Half-Marathon in September 2024, so I was prepared to make it happen for this one and it paid off! The merch is always good, but my thing is the pins. The pins are a replica of the medals we get at the end of the run! I have been collecting them since my first Run Disney event in 2015. The Halloween 2024 is the only run I didn't get a pin for; they were sold out by Saturday when I collected my bib. Lesson learned.

I scored a good group for the virtual queue, Group 30. I was called to make line by 10:10 AM and the expo opened at 10 AM. It was just me so not much of a group, lol. I did wait about 20-30 min in line until I went into the Merch Store. There were plenty of pins and people, so I was in and out. I knew what I wanted and why I was there for. The jersey was nice, but the price just didn't convince me. Overall, the expo was an easy process, and they definitely had more vendors for this expo than they did for the Halloween Run.

RUN DISNEY: DISNEYLAND 10K

Part (1)-One of the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge is running the 10K. The weather for this run was colder than the Halloween Half Marathon. It was between the 40-43 degrees and for a native Angeleno like me, that is cold. The 6-mile course takes place inside both parks, Disneyland and California Adventure.

I had a pretty decent corral (Corral E) to start, so it gave me a little extra time to enjoy the characters or photo-ops throughout the course.

I completed the 10K in 1(Hr):47(Min) which was an improvement of my previous 10K! Also keep in mind that if you decide to make stops for characters and photo ops it adds time to your run. I'm definitely looking forward to improving my time for the Run Disney Halloween 10K in September.

RUN DISNEY: DISNEYLAND HALF MARATHON

Par (2)-two of the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge was the half marathon and it went pretty well! I did much better on this half marathon than the one I ran in September (Run Disney Halloween Half-2024). The racecourse reminded me of the Star Wars Light Side Run! The course was plain and straight, not too many turns which makes the run go by quicker.

I had the same corral as the 10K, Corral E. This gave me a good start time, which it then let me enjoy the course. Such as not having to feel the chase of the "balloon people", as I had in September.

I completed the half marathon in 3(Hr):28(Min), which is 10 minutes better than my previous time! I look forward to making the next half marathon in 3-Hrs, I just have to keep up with the training. Not sure when my next half marathon is, but I'm hoping it can be the Wine & Dine in Walt Disney World!

FINAL THOUGHTS

I love my medals! Very proud of myself in completing the Run Disney Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare Challenge! I like to warn people that once you start running events, you can become addicted. LOL

I am hoping to score a registration for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon in Walt Disney world. That would qualify me for the Coast to Coast Medal. Overall, the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend was a successful one and I can't wait for the next one! I do like to warn people that if you start running and begin to pick up races, they can become addicting! LOL
